I have a confession to make.

I've made it to my 30's, and I don't have pierced ears!

How is that possible? Well, it’s a long story involving my own special genetics (my mom and sister also don’t have pierced ears) and my dermatologist telling me to never pierce my ears. Let me tell you, life is tough, my friends!

The Pain

I remember the pain of watching friend after friend go to the mall and come to school with a following of young admirers checking out their new starter studs. I felt left out. I tried the magnetic earrings in middle school, but those left marks in my ears and tears in my eyes from the pain. In high school, the trend was dangle earrings, and there just weren’t many great clip-on options. For the homecoming dance, I searched high and low for a gorgeous pair of clips, only to lose one on the dance floor. For prom, I found a pair that fit more snuggly, but I shamefully pulled them off at dinner from the pain of the pinch! For anyone who has worn clip on earrings, you know that pain, right? The headache that results from that special kind of torture where your earlobes are pinched between two binding pieces of metal is no joke!

Sweet Relief from GIRL NATION'S Clip On Earrings

When Girl Nation first came out with clip-on earrings, it was music (and sweet relief) to my ears! I’d never seen a clip-on quite like them- transparent and flexible. They didn’t pinch, and yet, they stayed in place! I wore them all day every day at a trade show we attended. And guess what? No headache! I didn’t even feel them, and for the first time, I felt like my elementary school friends whose new earrings created a gaggle of admirers.
